Atlanta, GA – December 19, 2019 – Southcoast Health, a not-for-profit community-based health system located in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, recently expanded digital access for consumers by launching online appointment scheduling via Loyal’s AI chatbot platform, Guide. The announcement coincides with Southcoast’s overall initiative to expand on consumer-centric digital solutions that allow healthcare consumers more self-service access.
As a health system with a network of more than 450 providers across 33 communities, Southcoast Health delivers nationally recognized care to over 719,000 residents. Providing access to scheduling appointments online via Guide will allow patients more access and self-service options and make Southcoast Health one of the first health systems in the country to offer online appointment scheduling via a chatbot platform.

Launched in October 2019, Southcoast Health has already begun receiving appointments scheduled through the chatbot platform. With a marketing initiative forthcoming to promote the new self-service option, Southcoast aims to make online scheduling the primary focus for newly scheduled appointments and another step forward in a longer journey of consumerism and customer engagement.
